Christian Schmitt

Christian Schmitt graduated at the TU Darmstadt and completed an apprenticeship in carpentry and joinery before. During his studies he was working as a junior assistant for Prof. Manfred Hegger (energy-efficient building) as well as Prof. Marie Claude Bétrix (Spatial Concepts and Design). At Ferdinand Heide Architects in Frankfurt am Main he was responsible for various and diversely published projects (lecture hall complex at Campus Westend in Frankfurt am Main, chamber music hall at the University of Regensburg). After that he was working at Herzog & de Meuron Architects in Basle on different prestigious projects in Switzerland and abroad. He received numerous awards and publications (1000x European architects, FEIDAD Developing Digital Architecture, honorable mention at the Miami Beach Biennale “Possible Futures”) and was a speaker at SFT Architecture Congress in Muenster and at the Muenster School of Architects). While establishing his on practice alltag.org he has been teaching at the ETH Zurich as a scientific assistant for the UNESCO Chair of Earth Architecture, Building Cultures and Sustainable Development (guest professors Anna Heringer and Martin Rauch).
